The prestigious publishing house Academic Press has published another edition of the book Sturkie's Avian Physiology, edited by Professors Colin C. Scanes and Sami Dridi.

The author of the chapter on the physiology of reproduction of female birds, i.e. “Reproduction in the female”  is Professor Anna Hrabia, PhD from the Department of Animal Physiology and Endocrinology (Faculty of Animal Sciences) University of Agriculture in Krakow.

 

                           


 

Sturkie's Avian Physiology is a comprehensive study on the physiology of domestic and wild birds. The latest edition is thoroughly revised, updated and includes some new chapters.

The book has been written by international experts on various aspects of bird physiology. It is broken down into a number of topics, starting with genomics, the biology of the senses and the nervous system, and major organs. The chapters then move on to metabolism, endocrinology, reproductive physiology, and finally topics such as stress and rhythms.

The seventh edition of Sturkie's Avian Physiology is an important source of information for ornithologists, scientists conducting research on poultry and other birds. The book can also be useful for veterinarians and students.
