University of Agriculture in Krakow (UAK) is one of the leading universities in the area of life sciences in Poland. It derives from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, where agricultural and forestry sciences developed since 1890. University of Agriculture today:

Each year over 3000 students are enrolled for various programmes at the University of Agriculture. The University provides professional education for specialists in the areas of agricultural, forestry and life sciences, veterinary medicine, in the field of economics, technical and sociological sciences. Due to the high quality education it provides, the University is known and valued in Poland and abroad. It focuses on the quality, mobility and innovations solutions. The graduates find employment in best enterprises in the country and abroad.
...Current years were a period of deep changes in higher education, mainly due to the entry into force of amended Law on Higher Education. The amendment, gave greater autonomy to the institutions of higher education, simplified professional track, whereas the introduced national qualification framework will make possible comparing the graduate diplomas internationally. Also the financing system of the university has changed. The amount of subsidy from the state budget depends among others on the quality of research and provided education. In the near future we will face many changes and hard, although creative work.

The University academic staff is constantly upgrading their qualifications. Currently the University employs 174 professors. We are continuously modifying the educational offer, introducing new fields and specializations taught in Polish and English
