22nd ASEF Summer University (ASEFSU22) on “Sustainable Tourism: Youth Driving Green Growth”.

Project Background:
ASEFSU22 will take place from 12 to 23 September 2018 in Croatia and Slovenia with 51 Asian and European youth representatives who will collaborate for a 2-week “Interdisciplinary Innovathon”. The selected students and young professionals come from various academic disciplines and different professions. As with our previous ASEF youth projects, the ASEFSU22 is accessible to youth with disabilities as well as youth from other disadvantaged backgrounds.

Over the course of 2 weeks, the participants are tasked to work on brief case studies and to develop and propose solutions to pressing societal issues faced by the tourism industry in relation to sustainable practices within its sector. The participant’s proposed ASEFSU22 challenge solutions can range from mobile to analogue applications, social media strategies, policy briefs, business plans to promotional materials. Outcomes will be presented to relevant stakeholders and at government meetings, including ASEM Ministers’ and Senior Officials Meetings, as input to the deliberations of policy makers.

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) together with its project partners is funding the participation of young people in this project and is currently reaching out to interested youth to apply.
