Conference of Rectors of the European University SELENE
"European Universities" is a network of universities cooperating with each other on the basis of transnational alliances or agreements of universities, supporting the quality and competitiveness of European higher education. The aim of such partnerships is to foster international cooperation between higher education institutions in Europe in the fields of research, education, services to society and innovation.
On January 19-20, 2023, the Conference of Rectors participating in the project of establishing the SELENE European University was held at the University of Agriculture in Krakow. The meeting was organized on the initiative of the Vice-Rector for International Relations, prof. Andrzej Sechman.
The aim of the conference was to discuss the main aspects of the project, and above all, to sign the mission and strategy of the alliance (SELENE) by the Rectors of the partner universities.
The meeting was attended by representatives of universities from seven countries: Bulgaria (University of Forestry), Italy (University of Messina), the Netherlands (AERES Universtiy of Applied Sciences), Romania (University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest), Slovakia (University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice), Turkey (Ankara University) and Poland (University of Agriculture in Krakow).
The result of the consortium's work will be submitting an application under the "European Universities" initiative for the establishment of the European University Step2Green Europe - One Health Approach for a Green University (SELENE).
